Cricket, the final frontier.
This is the voyage of the Starship FlipFlop. It's one night mission to Captain a cricket team, to seek not to bring the game into disrepute and to boldly go where no Gobshite has gone before.
Yes, dear reader, you read that correct. Ollie Timms took charge of his first Fleckney game, seasoned members wished him well then dived behind the nearest sofa to watch the game with fingers over their eyes. They need not have worried.
He won the toss (good start) and then Alex backed up his skipper with two wickets in the opening over. Henry also beamed up a couple of victims himself as another member of the almost hattrickclub and Scooter (or was it a barely disguised Klingon) bowled tightly from the other end. A catching chance was hit to Manraj and he too managed to er... Kilngon .
Chasing 100 Mandeep waited until his second ball before hitting the ball into orbit. The skipper tried to emulate that and the fielder managed to take it before being teleported just over the rope. Manraj spooked , or should that be Spocked the bowling on his way to 19, Nathan also bashed a maximum as the home side hit warp speed and cruised home.
Back at Federation HQ Admiral Walsh who had been orbiting a planet called Turkiye Trots had seen enough and announced his midweek resignation. We hope this isn't permanent but that he regains health to live long and prosper. Either way we don't need to see that Captains log.
Until next stardate.....
