Fleckney welcomed a Market Harborough Development side to the Rec and it was a tough day for us.
They have been coached how to play cricket - good, tight bowling lines, sharp in the field and decent with a bat in their hands..
Our score of 113/8 in a rain reduced 30 overs was held together with an excellent 56* from opener Michael Dunkley - at times ably supported by Yakesh Sachdev (11) and Andy Loomes (19) but the sense was that it wasn't going to be enough.
Harborough started strongly with Paybody and Ingram putting on 105 in 17 overs for the 1st wicket before James Sheath managed to land 1 ball on the pitch and dismissed Paybody for 76 but it was a brief moment of joy for the Fleckney boys as the game was done by the 20th over.
Honourable mentions for Dave Stribling (5-1-18-0) and Ben O'Reilly (3-0-12-0) who proved that the Fleckney youth system exists - both local lads who are working hard on their game.
We go again..
